This past week in space: SpaceX SN9

Courtesy @SpaceX on YouTubeThere have been numerous delays and I had a “fake news” report of which I purposely left up for you to see, because I attest that it stated that the flight was due to go up starting on Wednesday 2/3/2021 at 10 am CST—but it really went up on 2/2. As much as I hate to give negative reviews on anyone, or any company—there is never room for error whereby news reports a future date. Therefore, I will not be using the source @Overlook Horizon on YouTube or feeds, as they let me down, so I let you, the follower down, on an erroneous report substantially.

This Week: Possible Falcon 9 Starlink

The flight which was originally due to go up this morning, the SpaceX Starlink-17 Launch will be launched later this week, flight day and time TBD. More information on the launch is at: Rocket Launch: SpaceX Falcon 9 Starlink-18.

Next week: Mars!

NASA’s Mars Exploration Program continues with the 2,315-lb. rover, which includes the Perseverance rover and the Ingenuity helicopter drone. Its landing will be on next week Thursday, 2/18! The whole mission started out with the launch of the original Alliance Atlas V rocket at Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on 7/30/20 at 6:50 am CST and was the centerpiece of NASA’s $2.7 billion Mars mission. The timing of this was unique that it was centered onto the time when Mars was closest the to earth—38.6 million miles on October 6th. The fact that it was launched at that window made it the least lengthy flight to Mars, and also so saved mega-dollars on energy costs, and just made perfect sense.
