Today’s special photo segment:
Ensemble of Atlas Rocket liftoff – 3/8/97
It really was 25 years ago today that I had the unique opportunity to see NASA at full force! Here is my experience of the Atlas IIA rocket mission number AC-128 at launch site CCAFS, SLC-36A to launch the Tempo 2-Comsat into orbit that was launched by NASA on 3/8/1997. In today’s special anniversary photo ensemble. I am featuring photos of NASA in Cape Canaveral, Florida, redone in a .GIF photo on .GIPHY. This is such a must see event for anyone into astronomy! I recommend everyone see one of these once in your lifetime, because it tops any fireworks finale, by far! How fast the rocket goes after the afterburner is activated and it goes into orbit. The rocket literally disappears in seconds, and it looks like a magic trick!! Shocking, absolutely shocking! Date – March 8, 1997.

Ensemble of Atlas Rocket liftoff – 3/8/97) Wow! This was really interesting to read about. Thank-you so much for sharing this with all of us.
So cool. I would love to see a launch in person.
25 years ago? Really? How can that be, it was only a couple of years ago, I’d swear. Neat article.
The Atlas mission is in the process nowadays of being retired. You can see the information on the rocket I have posted and seen when I was on vacation in Florida in 1997: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Atlas_launches_%281990%E2%80%931999%29 scroll down to the table for year 1997, second listed mission for the year 1997. It really doesn’t seem like all 25 years ago now. It was spectacular!!
This is awesome! I enjoy reading your posts!
