STARSPANGLED BANNER

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave!

Happy National Vietnam War Veterans Day ! !

…A lot of times we lose our disposition in regular daily matters, but this country and the flag it stands behind, is still the most free land in the world. It is a nice day to celebrate the freedom we enjoy everyday with a tributary to that served. Where else in the world do we have that freedom to express our own opinions, and get away with having those thoughts, but in the U.S.A.–and that freedom is only possible through our amazing Veterans. Do not take this for granted and take your hats off today for the Vietnam War Veterans!!!

March 29th was National Vietnam War Veterans Day! Wishing a great thanks to those who have earned a medal in the armed services! The legacy lives on and on. . .

A Brief History:
Thank You: A special day to honor the American soldiers, sailors, marines, or any other department who served in the longest ongoing conflict the United States Armed Forces’ history, the Vietnam War. I want to take the time to thank those who have fought for the American freedom. this fine country is based on a theory and a constitution. I would like to extend a special “thank you”!

Origination: The day is celebrated to honor as a day celebrating the withdrawal in Vietnam when the combat and combat support units withdrew from South Vietnam on March 29, 1973. The Veterans of this time period are recently gaining the respect that was well deserved upon their original return.

Traditions: Taking a hat off for the many Americans who over the years have served our Armed Forces during the period, in any way, shape or form–and the displaying multiple flags.

Different Variations: Returning veterans should have received a respectful welcome upon their arrival back to America. With over 58,000 deaths, the Veterans shall be honored and given the respect and dignity that they deserve. This observance recognizes the military service of each and every one of these men and women who answered their call to serve their country.

Observed: In 2017, U.S. Congress, Senators Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., introduced legislation that designated March 29th of every year as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. The day was chosen because of the anniversary of the withdrawal of military units from South Vietnam. President Donald J. Trump signed the National Vietnam War Veterans Day Act on March 28, 2017, calling for U.S. flags to be flown on March 29 for all of those who served.

A Few Facts:
I am sharing a few facts, and more, some trivia, some not trivial. . .

  • 13 states have war memorials specific to Vietnam veterans
  • The U.S. Congress named 240 Medal of Honor recipients from the Vietnam War
  • More. . .

The Present:
Have you reached out to a soldier? A visit, a call, or a prayer is all that is necessary…
