Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Red Splendor Crabapple Tree
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Red Splendor Crabapple Tree.
The Red Splendor Crabapple Tree or the Malus spp. ‘Red Splendor’ is a great upright, more or less open headed tree. The flowers are a rosy red bloom. Some outstanding features are it’s almost complete disease resistance and its small, one-third inch diameter red fruit, that clings onto the trees all winter. The flowering crabapple are a durable and highly useful ornamental trees that are strikingly beautiful in bloom. The Red Splendor Crabapple Tree is a nice upright, spreading variety, that grows to the size of 15 to 20 feet tall, and 13 to 16 feet wide. In the fall, the dark reddish green leaves turn a reddish purple, that strikes the natural contrast with the fruit. The Red Splendor Crabapple Tree loves the full sunlight, and generally normal soil conditions to sandy and/or clay conditioning.

These are beautiful trees. The color is just right…not red, not pink, but somewhere in between. Thanks for the pix, so pretty!
