Class members are U.S. residents who purchased tickets for Lufthansa flights scheduled to operate to or from the U.S. between Jan. 1, 2020, and Aug. 16, 2021, and whose flights were canceled by Lufthansa. If you are eligible, you may receive a payment or a flight voucher. | |
06/08/23 | Wells Fargo (Equitybuild Ponzi scheme) | Wells Fargo | Wells Fargo will pay $3.75 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that the bank facilitated a Ponzi scheme that cost investors in Equitybuild, a buy-and-flip investment property business, millions. If you received a notice by mail that included a pre-populated “Amount of Loss” that is lower than your actual loss, you can submit documentation to support a higher loss. Class members can receive a proportional cash payment based on the amount they lost in the scheme. | |
06/13/23 | Mitsubishi (CRTs) | Mitsubishi | Mitsubishi has agreed to a $33 million settlement in a case alleging that it conspired with other CRT makers to set high prices for TVs and computer monitors. You may be eligible for payment if you purchased one of the qualifying TVs or CRT monitors between March 1, 1995 (varies by state), and Nov. 25, 2007, in one of more than two dozen states and Washington, D.C. | |
06/17/23 | Connected Investors (robocalls) | Connected Investors | A $2 million settlement has been reached in a case alleging that Connected Investors, an online real estate investment marketplace, violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by leaving unsolicited prerecorded voice message advertisements (robocalls). If you received one of these calls between April 28, 2017, and Sept. 26, 2022, you can receive a payment. | |
06/21/23 | Chicken of the Sea, Starkist Tuna and Bumble Bee Tuna (price fixing) | Chicken of the Sea, Starkist Tuna and Bumble Bee Tuna | Three major tuna fish producers agreed to a $6.5 million dollar settlement to resolve allegations that the companies conspired to overcharge consumers for packages or cans of tuna 40 ounces or larger, purchased from Wal-Mart, Costco, Sam’s Club, DOT Foods or Sysco between June 2011 and December 2016. If you are a resident of one of 27 states or Washington, D.C., and purchased one of the qualifying products during that time frame, you may be eligible for payment. | |
06/24/23 | Bank of America (overdraft fees) | Bank of America | Bank of America will pay $8 million to settle a case alleging the bank charged unfair overdraft and non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees on some transactions between May 19, 2017, and Feb. 16, 2023. Bank of America customers who, during this period, paid and were not refunded an overdraft and/or NSF fee assessed when a check or ACH (electronic) transaction was reprocessed by the bank may be eligible for payment. | |
06/26/23 | Don Roberto Jewelers (data breach) | Don Roberto Jewelers | Don Roberto Jewelers, with around 100 retail locations throughout California, has agreed to a $4 million settlement to resolve allegations that the company’s negligence enabled a 2021 data breach that comprised the sensitive data of consumers and employees who had their information on file with the company between Feb. 16 and March 3, 2021. Certain class members are eligible for a cash payment; all class members are eligible for free identity theft protection and restoration services. | |
07/07/23 | Kia (anti-lock brakes) | Kia | A settlement has been reached in a case alleging that certain Kia vehicles were sold and leased with a defect in the car’s anti-lock brake system (ABS) that could result in engine fires and the loss of ABS functionality. If you purchased or leased certain 2006-2021 model year Kia vehicles, you may be entitled to a reimbursement for paid out-of-pocket repairs or compensation for total vehicle loss due to engine compartment fire. | |
07/14/23 | Walmart (gift card remission) | Walmart | The U.S. Justice Department has secured nearly $4 million in refunds for consumers who were persuaded by scammers to purchase—and provide the scammers with access to—Walmart gift cards between April 1, 2016, and July 31, 2017, that were then frozen by Walmart in an effort to thwart the scam. The perpetrators posed as a loved one in trouble or impersonated a legitimate business or government agency, directing the targets to purchase gift cards to help their loved one or satisfy a non-existent business or government debt. Impacted consumers can receive a refund of the amount loaded onto the Walmart gift cards they purchased, and subsequently frozen, by filing a remission form by the deadline. | |
07/14/23 | JUUL Labs (e-cigarettes) | JUUL Labs | Juul Labs has agreed to pay $255 million to settle a case claiming the e-cigarette manufacturer concealed the addictiveness of its products. Plaintiffs also claim that Juul intentionally advertised its products to minors. Consumers who purchased Juul products from a retail store, online store or the Juul website on or before Dec. 7, 2022, may be eligible for a payment. | |
07/20/23 | Google (Search data) | Google agreed to pay $23 million in a settlement to resolve claims it shared users’ searches with third parties without consent. If you used Google Search and clicked on a search result between Oct. 25, 2006, and Sept. 30, 2013, you may be eligible for payment under the settlement. | ||
08/03/23 | Midwestern Pet Foods (aflatoxin and salmonella contamination) | Midwestern Pet Foods | Midwestern Pet Foods will pay $6.375 million dollars to settle a case alleging that the company sold pet food containing dangerous levels of aflatoxin (a carcinogen) and salmonella (bacteria). 08/04/23 | Mattress Firm and Global Home Imports (Bed Tech bed frames) | Mattress Firm and Global Home Imports | Mattress Firm and Global Home Imports have settled a case alleging that some Bed Tech bed frames are defective (prone to collapse) and, therefore, dangerous. Consumers who purchased certain models of the Bed Tech HR Platform bed frame between April 8, 2015, and April 8, 2021, may be eligible for a payment or gift card under the $4.9 million settlement. | |
08/11/23 | Meta Platforms (Facebook location data privacy) | Meta Platforms | Meta Platforms, which owns Facebook, agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging that the company inferred the location of U.S. Facebook users through their IP addresses even after they had turned off location services for the Facebook app on their Android or iPhone. If you used Facebook in the U.S. between Jan. 30, 2015, and April 18, 2018, and had your location services setting for the Facebook app turned off, yet your location was inferred by your IP address, you may be eligible for payment from the $37.5 million fund. | |
08/14/23 | SeatGeek (canceled event credits) | SeatGeek | Mobile ticket-selling platform SeatGeek agreed to a settlement to resolve claims the company didn’t provide ticket buyers with full cash refunds for events canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in violation of the law. If you purchased tickets to a live event via SeatGeek’s mobile website between Sept. 10, 2019, and March 17, 2020, the event was canceled, and you were issued a credit (rather than refund) without consenting to a credit (and you haven’t used that credit or received a refund), you may be eligible to extend the credit or receive a refund. | |
08/15/23 | Fashion Nova (misleading product ratings) | Fashion Nova | Online clothing retailer Fashion Nova agreed to pay $4.2 million to settle charges made by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that the company omitted hundreds of thousands of negative product reviews and also excluded those with less than four stars. If you purchased products at FashionNova.com before Nov. 21, 2019, based on the ratings and reviews, and you were dissatisfied with your purchase but have not already received a refund for the product(s), you may be eligible for payment. | |
08/18/23 | Turkish Airlines (COVID-related flight cancellations) | Turkish Airlines | Turkish Airlines settled a lawsuit accusing the airline of failing to compensate customers for flights canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers who purchased Turkish Airlines tickets for travel between March 1, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2021, and whose flights were canceled by the airline but they did not receive a refund, voucher or rebooking, may be eligible for payment. | |
08/25/23 | Meta Platforms (Facebook data privacy) | Meta Platforms (Facebook) | Meta Platforms, owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has agreed to pay $725 million to settle a case alleging that the company shared or otherwise made accessible Facebook users’ (and their friends’) data without their permission. Class members—U.S. users of Facebook between May 24, 2007, and Dec. 22, 2022—may be eligible for payment. | |
11/13/23 | Nationstar (mortgage ACH errors) | Nationstar | Mortgage lender and servicer Nationstar (now known as Mr. Cooper) agreed to a $5 million settlement to resolve a case alleging that the company sent incorrect automated clearing house (ACH) information to home loan borrowers’ bank accounts in April 2021, which resulted in overpayments and other financial repercussions. Members of the class may receive a cash payment plus reimbursement for related out-of-pocket expenses. | |
12/11/23 | Artsana USA, Inc. (Chicco KidFit car booster seats) | Artsana USA, Inc. | Artsana USA has agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging that the company’s Chicco-branded “KidFit” booster seats are unsafe. The suit claims that the company misrepresented the minimum weight requirement for collision protection. You may be eligible for payment if you purchased a KidFit booster seat between April 22, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2021. | |
