Happy Earth Day!!!

🌎 🌍 🌏 🌎 🌍 🌏 🌎 🌍 🌏

It’s Earth Day! April 22nd. Keep the Earth green and clean. Go Green and save the planet. Save the Earth and go green. . .

A Brief History:
Founded By: U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson.

Why: After witnessing a massive oil spill leaking millions of gallons of oil.

Where: Off of the coast near Santa Barbara, California.

When: 1969.

First Official Earth Day: April 22, 1970.

Why That Day? Senator Nelson chose the day because it fell between between students’ spring break and their final final exams to encourage young students to participate. More than 2,000 colleges and universities, 10,000 public schools, and 20 million citizens participated—About 10% of the US population at that time. . .

When Earth Day Went Global: Originally in 1990. In 2009, the UN designated April 22 as International Mother Earth Day.

A Few Facts:
I am sharing a few facts, and more, some trivia, some not trivial. . .

Perks That Originated From the Original Date:
Perks Created Same Year:

  • An Environmental movement.
  • Creation of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
  • Creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) later that same year.

Perks That Originated From Later:

  • Clean Air Act
  • Clean Water Act
  • National Environmental Education Act
  • Endangered Species Act
  • Occupational Safety and Health Act
  • More. . .

Nowadays:
How Large? It is estimated that over 1 billion people participate in Earth Day each year, making it the largest secular observance throughout the world.
Participation: Over 95% of the primary and also secondary schools in the U.S. Also millions of schools throughout the globe actually observe Earth Day each year.
Celebration of Earth Day After the COVID-19 Pandemic: In 2022, the ways of getting back to normal after 2020 were well underway, with plenty of events all locally, nationally and internationally. In 2021, it was recommended to plant something as e gesture of good deed. In 2020, 20 million people worldwide participated virtually in the 12-hour Earth Day Live event which was hosted remotely because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Future:
U.S.: Hopefully in the U.S., legislators will be able to see the damage that they are doing by using environmental issues becoming political issues, scaping to the cop out of blaming natural phenomenon with hope of a magical “The Green Deal”, and hidden agendas. Don’t forget, science is science and politics is politics. When science is manipulated, there are always consequences. Politics is for sure almost always manipulated, and we as citizens keep paying that high price for those decisions that we are powerless over. we are at the crossroads with a danger of blaming our actions constantly on what we do as a rationalization and justification to going fully communistic, like non-free countries.
Worldwide: The world is moving forward at a much higher rate. Don’t forget. . .the cobalt mined out of our country is not assisting in making this planet any greener, and these same countries in charge spew fumes and smoke into the atmosphere at such an alarming rate, it made the 1970’s steel industry in the U.S. look like a candy store. I don’t know. . .
