Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Weigela Florida ‘Suzanne’

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Weigela Florida ‘Suzanne’.

The Weigela Florida ‘Suzanne’, is from the Caprifoliaceae (honeysuckle) family, being an attractive medium sized shrub. Florida refers to the origin name meaning beautiful, not the State of Florida. The Weigela Florida ‘Suzanne’ has dainty variegated leaves with a pale white edge and clusters of creamy pale pink flowers in early summer, from mid to late May to later June. Weigela Florida ‘Suzanne’ grows to be a medium sized, branching rounded shrub, to the size of 4 to 5 feet high by 4 to 5 feet wide, and can be gently pruned to shape if required. Weigela Florida ‘Suzanne’ grows best when planted in the full sun or in the light, dappled shade and in well drained, fertile soil.
