Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Red & White Kaufmanniana Tulip Tulip

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the The 5th & Final Presentation this year of Tulips: The Kaufmanniana Tulip.

The Kaufmanniana Tulip, or the Tulipa L. is another version in the humongous family of Tulips, part of the hardy bulbous Liliaceae family. They are native to the country of Turkey originally, but modifications of this version of Tulip are native to Turkistan. Tulips account for 6 to 10 percent of the flower population, among a very high amount of the flowers in the world. Tulip varieties are divided into 15 separate species, with the varieties of tulips being 6393 total species of the tulips portfolio, as reported officially in the year of 2017. The tulip is divided into the categories of a single double-petaled, Lily bloom, bloom, button bloom, fringed (the frill-shaped petals which became one). They have branches whereby the bloom outsets. The tulip is very popular worldwide, and is one of the most popular varieties in the Middle-East, with them being the national flower in the countries of Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Kazakhstan. The tulip grows to the size of 4 inches to 2 feet long from ground level, and the flowers have a diameter of 2 to 4 colorful inches. Tulips perform very well in half-day sun and beneath deciduous trees. Planting of the bulbs in full sun will help the tulips attain their maximum height and flower size. In warmer climates, the flowers will last longer if they are shielded from hot afternoon sun. This particular photo session shows a prominently displayed pistil and stamina of the tulip blossom, in a nice close up.
