Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Mount Baker (Hybrid) Lilac
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Mount Baker (Hybrid) Lilac.
The Mount Baker Lilac, or the Syringa x h. ‘Mount Baker’ (Hybrid Lilac) is an early flowering hybrid that produces trusses of fragrant, single white flowers. The Mount Baker blooms in abundance in late April to early May with 6″ stems ending cones of small, pure white, single flowers. It is an excellent shrub to use in the background due to its large size, growing to the size of 6 to 10 feet tall and 8 feet high by 15 feet wide. The Mount Baker doubles up to exhibit excellent autumn coloring as well. The Mount Baker Lilac tree grows in reasonably fertile, well-drained soil and requires full sun; prefers neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Promptly deadhead spent blossoms lead to the reproduction of more robust blooms for the following year.
