Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Callery Pear Tree
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Callery Pear Tree.
The Callery Pear Tree, or the Pyrus Calleryana Bradford in the Rosaceae family. The Callery Pear Tree is a species of pear tree that is native to China and Vietnam. It is most commonly known for its cultivar ‘Bradford’ status, and widely planted throughout the United States, and increasingly regarded as an invasive species because of its seed size–problems arise due to its rapid growth due to seeds being consumed thereby easily being dispersed by birds into open areas such as pastures and native grasslands. The Callery Pear Tree grows to the rapid growth size of 12 to 15 foot height during only an 8 to 10 year period. The fruit grown is about one-half of an inch ion diameter. The trees grow best in full sun for blooms although it does tolerates partial shade..
