Federal Taxes have been deferred to the date Monday, May 17th. COVID-19 has taken it’s toll on the Government, and too many returns came in, while a delay in getting the rules for last year together with the new administration. There is a deferred date for your State returns, if your state has state income taxes due. Since there are differences in the due date, I am sharing a map to let you know your states particular due date for filing the past year. If you are in the grey, you are a lucky state that incurs no state income tax.

If you are not able to file for the new date, you need to file an extension for time to file, by the new due date, as done in the previous year–in order to extend the final due date to Friday, October 15th. There are some differences when it comes to business income and corporations, plus fiscal filers, so please always consult with your tax professional before any deadlines.
