A Brief History on Coffee & Ice Cream:
Coffee History: Coffee can trace its heritage back to the ancient coffee forests in the Ethiopian plateau as legend states, with mountain goat herder Kaldi. It has grown into the industry it is today.

Ice Cream History: The long history of the world’s favorite flavor starts in Mexico nearly 900 years ago. Thomas Jefferson is credited with bringing vanilla ice cream to the United States after he tasted it in France and created his own recipe in the 1780s. However, it is thought that Jefferson’s enslaved chef, James Hemings, improved the recipe. Hemings trained as a French chef while in France with Jefferson and helped popularize vanilla ice cream in the U.S., along with other French dishes like macaroni and cheese and whipped cream.

Why it is so Good: Numerous individuals yearn for the rich taste of coffee, characterized by its bitterness, earthy notes, chocolate hints, and the balance of acidity and sweetness. This appreciation is what makes coffee ice cream a highly valued combination. Caffeine mixed into a cold, creamy treat is hard to resist. Coffee ice cream has a long history. It was first used in a parfait in 1869. A recipe for Egg Coffee, made with cream, crushed ice, and coffee syrup, was found in a cookbook from 1919. Howard Johnson’s includes coffee ice cream on their regular menu. Foodtimeline.org notes that since the 1960s, coffee has been listed alongside flavors like vanilla, chocolate, banana, macaroon, and coconut.
