Founded By: The Banana Split, which was invented in 1904, has established itself as a quintessential element of American dessert culture. Its origins trace back to David “Doc” Evans Strickler, a 23-year-old soda fountain attendant at a pharmacy in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, who began to explore various combinations of ice cream. The introduction of new ice cream flavors diverted attention from the traditional combinations of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Additionally, soda fountains were replaced by franchises such as Carvel, with the last Walgreens soda fountain ceasing operations over 50 years ago.

The Banana Splits Television Shoe: The Banana Splits is a variety television program from the United States, created by Hanna-Barbera Productions. It showcases the Banana Splits, a fictional rock band made up of four anthropomorphic animal characters, each adorned with red helmets and yellow crests.
