A Brief History:
History: Horses serve not merely as a mode of transportation; they have historically cleared fields, participated in wars, and herded cattle. Additionally, they provide companionship that is essential during long, solitary journeys, including the journey of life. Cattlemen, pioneers, and others acknowledge horses as fundamental to survival in a developing nation. We regard horses as a magnificent species that brings happiness to equine enthusiasts.

The View:  A horse possesses the ability to see nearly 360° simultaneously. This characteristic makes it challenging to approach a horse stealthily. The only areas where they have blind spots are directly behind and in front of them. Nevertheless, it is advisable not to approach a horse from the rear; their strong hind legs can inflict significant harm if they feel threatened and choose to kick. Due to their remarkable field of vision, horses can be easily startled or distracted. To mitigate this, trainers often equip horses with blinders or blinkers on their harnesses to restrict their peripheral vision. This small leather accessory aids the horse in concentrating its sight forward.

Physique on the Feet: Similar to human hair and fingernails, a horse’s hooves consist of the same protein known as keratin. Farriers are experts in the maintenance of horses’ hooves. They not only equip horses with shoes but also trim their hooves and offer advice on hoof care and foot health. Given that horses spend a significant amount of time on their feet, the care provided by a farrier is crucial to their overall well-being.

Some Basic Differences of Breeds: The quarter horse, recognized for its rapidity on short tracks, ranks among the three swiftest horse breeds. Following the quarter horse in speed for longer distances are thoroughbreds, while Arabians excel in endurance, outlasting both breeds in the longest races. The Shire holds the title of the tallest horse breed, with its stallions reaching heights of 17 hands, in stark contrast to the diminutive Falabella, which measures merely eight hands, making it the smallest horse breed.

A Few Facts:
I am sharing a few facts, and more, some trivia, some not trivial. . .

Purpose Behind All Horses:
Horses have many uses, both historically and today. They are ridden for fun, competition, and sport, with activities like dressage and show jumping. Horses can also pull carriages and carts. In agriculture, they help herd cattle, haul equipment, and can be used for logging in tough areas. Some police forces use horses for crowd control. Horses play a role in therapy, helping people with disabilities through equine-assisted therapy and hippotherapy. They can be kept as pets and provide companionship. Horses are featured in entertainment, such as parades and rides. Historically, they were essential for transportation and warfare. They also offer benefits like natural fertilization and can serve as early warning systems.

The Present:
There exist over 300 horse breeds globally, each cultivated for various purposes. The relationship between horses and humans encompasses a diverse range of sporting events and recreational activities, both competitive and non-competitive, in addition to their roles in professional fields such as law enforcement, agriculture, entertainment, and therapeutic practices.

The Future:
My hope is to have a great future for the horse, now and into the long future. . .
