A Brief History:
Origination: Today serves as the United States Army’ birthday, marking its founding date going back to June 14, 1775. with the Continental Army formed to fight the British in the Revolutionary War. Initially made up of militia troops, it later included enlisted soldiers. The Army has played significant roles in the War of 1812, Civil War, and both World Wars, as well as more recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, it is the main land service branch of the U. S. Department of Defense.
