My prayers are with all the families and friends of everyone onboard any of the two aircrafts!
Prayers for families and friends in airplane crash disaster in Washington, DC. At about 9 pm EST, an American Airlines jet, with 60 passengers and 4 crew members, are feared dead after a collision with an Army helicopter carrying 3 crew members, which may be the worst aviation disaster in the U. S. in nearly 25 years. At least 28 bodies were recovered from the Potomac River after the two aircraft collided on Wednesday night while the jet was landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, DC. Crews are still searching for more casualties but do not expect any survivors.
John Donnelly, the fire chief in Washington, DC, stated that the operation has switched from rescue to recovery. The jet’s wreckage was found upside down in the water, along with the helicopter’s remains. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the collision, although conditions were reportedly clear at the time. Officials believe the helicopter entered the jet’s path as it approached the airport.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy assured that U. S. airspace is the safest in the world. He acknowledged that the collision might have been preventable, as communication between the aircraft and air traffic controllers was standard. The FAA plans to reopen Reagan Airport later today.
Passengers on the flight include figure skaters returning from a competition. The U. S. Figure Skating organization expressed their sorrow over the tragedy, especially mentioning the involvement of renowned Russian coaches. The midair accident occurred just over three miles south of major landmarks, with both aircraft following typical flight patterns before the incident.
Mr. Trump spoke today from the White House press room, announcing the immediate appointment of Christopher Rocheleau as acting commissioner of the Federal Aviation Administration. He mentioned that the collision occurred on a “very clear night” and that “for some reason, adjustments weren’t made. ”
My prayers go out to any of the affected families of any persons affected by this deadly disaster.
A prayer and a moment of silence…

A prayer:
Dear God,
We seek Your mercy and comfort for the dearly departed in the recent aircraft crash, their grieving loved ones, and all those affected by the accident and its aftermath.
Amen.
