A Brief History:
Origination: The occasion serves as a reminder that bacon transcends breakfast and invites us to explore diverse methods of savoring this culinary delight. Bacon has a long history, starting with the domestication of pigs over 5,000 years ago The Chinese were the first to salt and cure pork belly around 1500 B.C., with Greeks and Romans also enjoying bacon. In the Middle Ages, “bacon” referred to all pork, and a church in England promised bacon to married men who didn’t argue with their wives for a year. The first commercial bacon plant opened in the 1770’s. In 1924, Oscar Mayer sold the first pre-sliced bacon, and the bacon and eggs breakfast combination became popular in the 1920’s.

What is Bacon? The production of bacon in the United States and Canada primarily utilizes pork belly. In contrast, various other nations employ the side and back cuts of pork for bacon preparation. The curing process involves either a salt brine or a salt pack, followed by methods such as drying, boiling, or smoking.

Delicious Bacon: Bacon enhances the quality of many dishes, as has been stated by some. Our research provides minimal evidence to contradict this claim.
