My prayers are with all the families, friends and businesses in all areas!

Aid is Needed!

We have established that the Federal government is completely out of control! The areas that are dependent on Federal aid are not going to be able to normally recoup. The Feds stated that FEMA had enough resources as they promised to be more ‘forward-leaning’ this hurricane season in a May  31st press conference. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is currently able to address immediate needs but lacks sufficient funding to last through the hurricane season, according to the Homeland Security Secretary. The agency is heavily involved in evaluating damage caused by Hurricane Helene, distributing essential supplies, and assisting various states impacted by the recent storm. Although the Secretary of State did not specify the precise amount needed, there are concerns, highlighted by President Joe Biden and lawmakers, that additional funding may be required. Congress recently allocated $20 billion to FEMA as part of government funding until December 20th. Despite this, there are calls from Senators in affected states for further action from Congress to address the needs of constituents. The major states affected are: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

Hurricane Formed: September 24, 2024
Hurricane Dissipated: September 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a powerful and devastating tropical cyclone, setting records as the strongest to hit the Big Bend region of Florida. It caused significant damage in the Southeastern United States as the 5th hurricane and second major hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic season. Assessment of the damage caused by the storm, with more than 150,000 households already seeking FEMA assistance.  The current people still listed as missing is at 200 people in six states, and the death toll is estimated to be at least 223.

Please Give If You Can. . .

Helene caused devastating flash flooding in western North Carolina, with over 2 feet of rainfall and widespread destruction. Samaritan’s Purse is providing relief in Watauga County, where their international headquarters are located in Boone. They are also assisting neighboring counties in North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. The flooding led to toppled trees, washed-out roads, and destroyed homes and businesses. The response includes Buncombe County, where rivers overflowed and caused destruction in Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, and Swannanoa areas southwest of Boone.

…MILTON FORECAST TO STRENGTHEN AND BRING THE RISK OF LIFE-THREATENING IMPACTS TO PORTIONS OF THE WEST COAST OF FLORIDA NEXT WEEK…
1. Milton is forecast to quickly intensify while it moves eastward to northeastward across the Gulf of Mexico and be at or near major hurricane strength when it reaches the west coast of the Florida Peninsula mid week.
2. There is an increasing risk of life-threatening storm surge and wind impacts for portions of the west coast of the Florida Peninsula beginning late Tuesday or Wednesday. Residents in these areas should ensure they have their hurricane plan in place, follow any advice given by local officials, and check back for updates to
the forecast.
3. Areas of heavy rainfall will impact portions of Florida Sunday and Monday well ahead of Milton, with heavy rainfall more directly related to the system expected later on Tuesday through Wednesday night.
