A Brief History:
Likeness: A time for comedy on paper or on TV! Celebrating the good old days of free comic books. I remember when I went to the dentist’s office when I was young. And also a day to celebrate the artists’ works.
Free Comic Book Day: Comic book heroes are available in various shapes and sizes, just like their fans. Every day, a new fan emerges, and this is especially true on Free Comic Book Day, when retailers seize the opportunity to entice us back to where our beloved heroes originated: within the pages filled with ink, art, and captivating stories. Initially popularized in the United States, comic books are also referred to as comic magazines. Typically, they consist of sequentially drawn panels that depict different scenes. Each scene often incorporates descriptive prose and written narratives. When these panels are assembled, they form a complete story or a segment of a series. The earliest comic strips, which eventually gave rise to comic books, featured dialogue presented in bubbles or balloons above the characters’ heads. This art form encompasses intricate designs, incorporating elements such as text, dialogue, personalities, color, and imagery to develop a compelling storyline. As time progresses, these storylines become emblematic of specific eras, artists, genres, and themes.
Cartoonists Day: Cartoons have their origins in Italy, where the term initially referred to the material used for drawing before transitioning to describe the drawing itself. Eventually, the definition broadened to include comic drawings, series of drawings, and animations. In the United States, Richard Outcault is recognized as a key figure in the development of modern comic strips. Outcault, a comic strip writer and artist, studied at the School of Design in Cincinnati and is renowned for creating iconic characters like The Yellow Kid and Buster Brown. His colorful drawings first appeared in the New York World on May 5, 1895, introducing readers to the mischievous young boy with big ears that would become The Yellow Kid, the first commercially successful cartoon character.
Celebrated: Since 1990, National Cartoonists Day is celebrated every year on May 5th. Free Comic Book Day is celebrated every year on the first Saturday of May.

A Few Facts:
I am sharing a few facts, and more, some trivia, some not trivial. . .
Cartoons: Cartoons typically stay as being motion image, and movie style. Great artwork goes into each and every frame, but a lot of frames it takes. In the good old days, teams and teams of people it took to make up of a cartoon, in order to fulfill the promise of another cartoon due to the time consuming chore it was getting all the frames of art coordinated, back in the day. The digital age has sped things up dramatically.
Comic Books: Comic books derive from conic strips, which were a strip on a newspaper, which is another way of stating a row. In the old newspaper days of comic stirps, they jump right out from the columns. Great artwork goes into each and every frame.

The Present:
Comic books and cartoons are on their way to permanence, way into the future. . .
