Happy Soft Ice Cream Day ! !

A Brief History on Soft Ice Cream:
Founded By: Tom Carvel was the first to invent what we now know as “soft serve ice cream”. He was also the first to bring the logic of “Buy one, get one free”, “BOGO” or “1+1” to the marketplace. Both Dairy Queen and the Carvel company claim to have developed the first soft-serve ice cream in the mid-1930’s, despite the reality of soft serve ice cream in the year 1938 by J.F. “Grandpa” McCullough and his son Alex McCullough with their soft serve formula near Moline, Illinois. A first sales experiment was on August 4, 1938, in Kankakee, Illinois, at the store of the McCullough’s friend, Sherb Noble.

Why: Soft, cold and sweet equals a very quenching and delicious combo on a hot day.

Where: All around the world.

When: Since the 1930’s.
