Chrysler Imperial Hybrid Tea Rose

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let the is year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Chrysler Imperial Hybrid Tea Rose.

The Hybrid Tea Rose, or the Chrysler Imperial in the Hybrid Tea family, is a perennial that grows shrub-like to a height of 4 to 6 feet tall, and a spacing of 24 to 36 inches apart. The Tea shaped flowers bloom in late spring to early summer, repeatedly–in a dark, deep, velvety, vivid-pink to crimson red color The Hybrid Tea Rose present a very fragrant scent, and are very attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds. The Hybrid Tea Rose grow in the zones primarily of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas to California, although these photos were taken in Illinois. The Hybrid Tea Rose are shade-tolerant, resistant to black spot, resistant to mildew avoid chemical sprays, stems are very thorny, and recommended to prune early in order to promote new growth. The foliage color ranges from a orange to apricot or pink to rose, with a mildly green leaf feature. The flowers are good for cutting, drying and preserving. The Hybrid Tea Rose require acidic to mildly acidic soil conditions, and require an average watering, watering regularly, and not an over-watering.
