Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day:
The Chinese Peony

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let the is year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Chinese Peony.

The Chinese Peony, or the Paeonia Lactiflora is a species of herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the family Paeoniaceae, native to central and eastern Asia from eastern Tibet across northern China to eastern Siberia. It has migrated over the years for growing in the northern portions of the United States, from my location at the southern tip of Illinois northward, including southern sections of Alaska. The Chinese Peony grows to the size of 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, and the flowers fade away quickly in bright sunlight. Growing them in dappled shade (but not complete shade), where they receive morning light; or protect the blossoms with an umbrella for extended bloom is highly recommended to experience the full potential of ultra pink coloring.
