KANSAS (Rock Group):
Kansas is an American rock band that originated in 1970 became popular in 1977 with the Top 40 hit “Carry On Wayward Son” on the album “Leftoverture“. The band had albums produced originally by the co-producer Jeff Glixman. With the next follow up album “Point of Know Return” the album-oriented rock charts went now gold with the hit “Dust in the Wind” as of 2005 according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). My favorite album by Kansas was the album “Monolith” which was released in May 1979 with my absolute favorite song “Angels Have Fallen“. I had the great opportunity to see Kansas three times, the first time of which I was able to see the original sextet member band consisting of Kerry Livgren, Steve Walsh, Robby Steinhardt, Dave Hope, Phil Ehart and Rich Williams.
Remembering Robby Steinhardt: More recently, we have lost band member Robby Steinhardt. We remember, and wish all family and friends for his passing on July 17, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. This particular concert was on the “Vinyl Confessions” Tour on August 4, 1982 at the then Poplar Creek Music Theatre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Here is a great photo showing Robby Steinhardt at his best:

The Progression of Kansas: The band member Steve Walsh formed the band “Streets” in October 1981, and was replaced by member John Elefante in the group Kansas in the year 1982 for the “Vinyl Confessions” tour. I followed that up with the final concert I have seen in 1983 on the “Drastic Measures” tour. The band’s enthusiasm was not quite the same as that of Steve Walsh’s presence. The original band reunited one more time on a tour in 1999 to 2000. the band is still together with various members but the only two members that remain from the original lineup playing with the band these days are guitarist Rich Williams and drummer Phil Ehart. Now they are joined by Ronnie Platt (vocals), Billy Greer (bass), David Ragsdale (violin), Zak Rizvi (guitar) and Tom Brislin (keyboards). A summer 2023 concert tour is planned, of which tickets are on sale. With the loss of Robby Steinhardt, it will not be possible for a complete reunion.

Oh I listen to them quite a bit as a kid. This is cool! And evidently it’s also Kansas the state’s day as well.
