Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Korean Goldenbell Tree

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Korean Goldenbell Tree.

The Korean Goldenbell Tree, or the Forsythia koreana are a shrub among the species in the Oleaceae genre of the olive family. The front of the leaf is dark green and the back is dark blue, both sides being hairless. The leaves grow to 1.2–4.7 inches long, and are oval in shape, having teeth. The shrub grows to the size of 9 to 10 feet high. The optimum amount of sun or shade each plant needs to thrive is full Sun, 6+ hours per day, with the possibility of full shade only of up to 4 hours.

  1. So pretty! Forsythia are the first flowers that I see in the spring in NYC! Great photos. (I never knew they had another name, thanks for the info!)
