A Day to Celebrate the Success of Graduates’ Futures: Here is the day to celebrate the success of graduation, no matter what level of education. Graduation is the receiving or conferring of an academic degree or diploma. Hats off!!!
A Graduation Toast: There is classes of students across the country who are celebrating celebrating their academic accomplishment and achievement of the award of their diplomas. Graduation day celebrates both the successes and the very important future of every graduate!
How it is Celebrated: It is celebrated both upon the actual graduation ceremony, and also usually in a great family/friends get-together style party.
A Small History of Graduations on the Calendar: The past has some great memories of graduation that have retained honor and protocol. History shows slightly different ways of graduations in the past. Back in the past, the school year truly was divided into semesters. The school year is based on a 180 day cycle, even to the day. In Illinois, the pupils are only go 176 days based on teacher institute days. In the 1940s and 1950s, in was typical to start school in January as well as the traditional September school start. It all depended on the birth date. They had two cut-off dates in those days instead of just one. These days, in Illinois, if you are born on December 1st or after, the school start for entering kindergarten is the next year. Every state declares its own determination date. In elementary school, middle school and junior high school are based on efforts, passing and attendance. High schools and college are based on an academic points scale combined with credits being obtained. Other requirements such as a certain amount of education years per certain subjects, American history/constitution, driver’s education, physical education, sex education are required in high school. College has requirements other than credits and grade point averages, base on a per school requirement. Obviously the more of either of these the better the grade point scale will be. Upon education, the maximum grade point average awarded to any pupil in a school’s class is considered the “Valedictorian”. The better the experience at a school is, the more likely that it will make a difference in creating the resume when it comes to getting the first employment applications. The education experience combined with the employment experience create a resume that can make the key to life’s success a great one! success continues on with the celebration of a graduation!
Celebrated: The national day on May 17th is only symbolic–a day where the nation can be on the same page on one day. The real day is that special day, when that diploma is presented. The day differs as per school. Happy Graduation!
