The latest report for the landfall for Marco and upcoming Laura! Marco has made landfall, and I am displaying the latest Facebook posts. Laura appears to be moving in a very similar path with little recovery time from the flooding waters. Do not be fooled–with the saturation of rainfall from Marco already, Laura will have much more impact, so do not venture out into the storms. I will present the latest storm surge information when it becomes available. It appears that Laura will make landfall sometime Wednesday morning. Make wure that you do not walk in the flooded areas as manhole covers may have lifted off and you cannot tell if it is safe to walk for other reasons, sharp objects, electric being on and gas leaks.. It may not be safe to get out any longer, so use discretion and take the best cover that you can! Above all, do not stay in the basement. Tune into KHB-46 Baton Rouge, LA NOAA Weather Radio station serving the Baton Rouge Metro Area and surrounding cities on the emergency weather radio bandwidth or visit https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/Tropical Storm Laura to follow. You are not in the safety until Laura has gone through! All residents along the Gulf Coast should have a hurricane plan in action or visit https://www.weather.gov/wrn/hurricane-preparedness. Please adhere to safety measures and stay out of the way of danger! Sharing the latest NOAA and NWS reports:
