Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight at 2 am. You will be one hour late for an appointment tomorrow or Monday by failing to reset them. Also in the name of safety, make sure that you change the batteries on you fire alarms and/or smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Visit my Blog Post for a brief history of the time changing at: “Don’t Forget to Set Your Clocks Ahead…”.
There is a new law in Illinois right now, passed by state legislature via Bunker Hill Democrat Andy Manar–needing passing by state Governor J.B. Pritzker, whereby it is proposed that Illinois would be the first place in the world to adopt where Daylight Savings Time never stops. Even if passed, the law would have to be foreseen and passed and fully approved by the federal government before it could be implemented. It will be interesting to see if they are going to pass this. If it is passed, it will create jobs literally in the computer programming industry and also other scheduling businesses, as having a state offset like this will be a transition at the very least and will take some time to factor into commerce. The largest difference is that there are states that do not observe a time change, but they simply don’t honor daylight savings time, not observing daylight savings time year round. I will keep you informed as to the status of these issues as needed. Enjoy an hour of extra light in you evenings!!
