Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day:
The Daisy Fleabane
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let 2025 shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Daisy Fleabane.
The Daisy Fleabane, or the Erigeron Annuus, is a wildflower indigenous to several regions, frequently regarded as a pioneer species, thriving in disturbed environments such as fields and along roadsides. The plant generally reaches heights of one to five feet and bears flowers resembling asters, characterized by white rays surrounding a yellow center. At night, the flowers close, transforming the white petals into a pinkish bud until they bloom again in the daylight. The term “fleabane” originates from an ancient European belief that the scent of the plant deterred fleas, although this notion is unfounded.
