The History:
Origination: Beginning a new era, phasing out the horse and buggy. . .the demonstration of the first U.S. horseless carriage by the Duryea Motor Wagon Company in the year 1893, Americans have been captivated by automobiles. The allure of the motor vehicle has transformed our travel from bumpy rural paths to legendary highways and byways. It has also granted us the ability to travel across the nation with greater independence than ever before. The desire for speed, efficiency, and elegance has driven innovation and design. Furthermore, the introduction of assembly lines has made automobiles more accessible to the general public.

Appeal & Spirit: The allure of the automobile shaped the American spirit of adventure. Themes of nostalgia, perseverance, and exploration dominate current discussions. Interestingly, for a period, automobiles and horses coexisted on the roads, leading to considerable confusion. There were no stop signs or traffic lights. Road regulations had not yet been put in place. Nevertheless, automotive manufacturers started to customize their designs to meet the demands of a public seeking a specific aesthetic.

Upkeep of the Collector Car Era: Today, collectors of these past eras preserve history and memories. They restore and maintain vintage metal, engines, and blinkers. Crank, push-button, or throttle starters that once lay rusting in a barn spring back to life. Experts diligently search for the correct part or color, while talented artisans invest their effort in restoring a single collector car. They dedicate countless hours to painting, repairing, rebuilding, and welding to achieve the final outcome of a flawless collector car.

Celebrated: National Collector Car Day is celebrated each year on the 2^nd Friday in July, which this year was yesterday, July 11^th.
