A Brief History:
Origination of Grapes: Grapes have a rich history, with cultivation starting probably before mankind. over 5,000 years ago in the Near East, particularly in the South Caucasus. They became important for food and wine, spreading through the Fertile Crescent to ancient civilizations like Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The Hittites, Greeks, and Phoenicians helped spread grape culture to other areas, while the Romans expanded it across Europe and North Africa. Grapes hold religious significance and are involved in various cultural traditions, such as the New Year’s Eve custom of eating 12 grapes.
