This week is National Police Week. Thursday is a special day to honor peace officers who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep the safety of the world intact. My thanks and gratitude go to the police! Here is to celebration of very important personnel. . .Those who hold the profession of putting the on the uniform that gives society the peace of mind for security, protection, and peace of mind–protecting the public at large to common safety. . .

A Brief History:
Origination: In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls. National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those fallen law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

What is National Police Week? National Police Week occurs every May. In 2025 we will be commemorating it with live, in-person events. National Police Week is observed this year officially from May 11th–17th.
35th Annual Candlelight Vigil: The National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum will hold ceremonies, including the 36th Annual Candlelight Vigil, to honor the fallen law enforcement officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial.
A celebration: National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honor America’s law enforcement community.
Celebrated: Since the year 1962, National Police Week is celebrated the whole week that includes the day of May 15th, every year!

In order to retain peace and freedom, we need to have our police available on call. They give their all and livelihood for those in need and make America a free and safe place to live. Thank you and appreciation goes to those who serve, the front-line workers, and for all the years of dedication and professionalism, doing a job that many could not do!
