A Moment of Silence:
A prayer and a moment of silence…

A prayer:

Dear God,
O Lord, our Heavenly Father, may every step I take align with your guidance. May all that I observe be perceived through your perspective. In all my actions, may I fulfill your purpose. For each challenge I encounter, I entrust it to your care.
Amen

Different Levels of Prayer: If you are beginning your journey in prayer or have been engaged in prayer for an extended period but find it lacking in vitality, this tool may prove beneficial. It is known as the A.C.T.S. model for prayer, which offers a structured approach to your prayers and can assist you when you feel stagnant or uninspired. Here I show you the A.C.T.S. method of prayer, which represents Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication:

  • Adoration involves expressing your love for God, where you can simply say, ‘God, You are incredible. I am in awe of You.’ This aspect focuses on God’s nature rather than His actions, and we honor Him for His various attributes.
    • Below, some examples to help you begin (from the ‘Omni’s of God for prayer from the multiple collection of “O” instances) include:
      • Omnipotent (all-powerful, Jude 24-25)
      • Omniscience (all-knowing, Psalm 147:4-5)
      • Omnipresence (ever-present, Jeremiah 23:24)
    • The Un-words include:
      • Understanding (Jeremiah 33:3)
      • Unimpeachable (Psalm 9:10)
      • Unflappable (Mark 4:38)
      • Unshakable (Hebrews 12:2)
  • Confession: Acknowledgment of our fallen nature follows the recognition of God’s greatness. Confession involves a sincere examination of our actions, thoughts, and motivations, where we recognize our shortcomings. It is important to clarify what confession is not:
    • Confession does not serve to inform God, as He is already aware of our transgressions. Instead, it fosters a spirit of humility and authenticity within us. Through confession, we grow into individuals capable of apologizing, accepting criticism graciously, and acknowledging our faults while striving for deeper connection.
    • Confession is not intended to induce shame; Jesus’ sacrifice liberates us from guilt. It is not a moment to dwell in regret but an opportunity to seek reconciliation with God and others, to acknowledge our wrongs, and to request forgiveness.
    • Confession should not be approached casually; we must remember that forgiveness is made possible solely through Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary, which came at a significant cost. Thus, when we confess our sins, we must remain aware of the immense price paid for our chance to seek forgiveness.
  • Thanksgiving, in contrast to adoration, expresses gratitude for God’s deeds. It is a moment to recognize the multitude of blessings He has bestowed upon us, such as our breath, clothing, employment, and relationships. The scripture reminds us that every good and perfect gift originates from above (James 1:17). All our blessings are sourced from God, our provider.
  • Supplication involves presenting our requests to God. Often, our prayers begin and conclude with our needs, treating God as a mere provider. However, in this prayer model, supplication follows worship, confession, and thanksgiving. It encompasses requests for both ourselves and others, inviting us to bring all our concerns before Him.

Prayer in My Favorite Religious Music Video: Here is “The Lord’s Prayer” by Sister Janet Mead. I lost my father and my brother in January. I have been praying more these days than ever. This version of “The Lord’s Prayer” was also my late father’s favorite, and my church performed it at his funeral.
