Benefits: Participation in sports encompasses a multitude of benefits. Research indicates that women who engage in sports during their educational years are more likely to attain a college degree. Furthermore, an EY study reveals that women with a background in athletics significantly enhance their chances of securing leadership roles.

Overall Impact: Athletics significantly impact the lives of girls. In addition to fostering a structured approach to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, participation in sports enhances self-confidence, cultivates leadership abilities, and promotes teamwork skills.
Participation: Participation in sports is beneficial regardless of the specific activity. Whether young women opt to join the volleyball team or strive for par or better in golf, they experience health, leadership, and academic advantages that grow with their involvement. Additionally, girls cultivate meaningful relationships that can last a lifetime throughout their athletic journeys. It is not solely a matter of competition.
Significance: On February 4, 1987, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the inaugural National Women in Sports Day to honor the historical significance of women’s athletics. This declaration also acknowledged the advancements achieved through the Title IX amendment, which was enacted in 1972.
