Because of the beauty from the eye in the sky. . .I am featuring a .GIF & video of the whole loop of Atlantic Category 4 Hurricane Kirk (at peak), which started out 9° west of Dakar, Senegal, Africa in the eastern Atlantic at 15°N & 26°W, staying clear of any and all land areas, causing no damage while being in hurricane state– but later referred to as Storm Kirk during its extratropical phase, was a substantial and formidable tropical cyclone that inflicted considerable damage in various areas of Western Europe following its transformation into a European windstorm. The storm moved west to northwest until 51°W then move quickly northward, then impacted movement via the westerly jet stream moving northeastward, and turning extratropical at 42°N & 38°W, and then moving towards Europe, and as it progressed eastward into Western Europe, Kirk was classified as the fifth storm of the 2024–25 European windstorm season. Furthermore, six tornadoes were reported as it made landfall on the continent. France, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden all experienced severe weather warnings as a result of storm Kirk on October 8th. These countries faced strong winds, heavy rain, large waves, and flooding. In Porto, Portugal, 400 trees were uprooted, cars were damaged, and power was lost for over 300,000 households. Portuguese apple production suffered significant damage, resulting in millions of euros in losses. In Spain, roads were blocked by mudslides and fallen trees, with the north and northwest regions experiencing winds up to 87mph. In southern France, three boats overturned in Sète, causing the death of one sailor. Additionally, 64,000 people in the south of France were left without power, and floodwaters cut off roads in various departments. Overall, the storm caused significant disruptions, damages, and power outages across these countries as a result of the extreme weather conditions.
