Rocket City Daylily
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let 2024 shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is: Rocket City Daylily.
The Rocket City Daylily, or the Hemerocallis ‘Rocket City’ Orange Daylily of the Asphodelaceae family are such abrightly great summer sight that just make it right. The Rocket City Daylily has blossoms are trumpet-shaped, featuring a bittersweet orange hue complemented by a burnt orange eye zone, crimped petals, and smooth sepals. The throat and midribs exhibit a lighter orange-yellow coloration. The bloom period occurs from early to mid-summer. The plant possesses grassy leaves that maintain their green color throughout the growing season. The Rocket City Daylily needs pruning to enhance appearance and prolong the blooming period, prune the flower stalks after flowering. They possess hardiness, as the plant is very resilient, capable of withstanding severe conditions. This species is resistant to rabbits. The Rocket City Daylily requires relatively low maintenance, demonstrating tolerance to drought, heat, and urban pollution. The Rocket City Daylily needs plenty of watering, especially during a long dry spell or drought.

Flowers are about 6 inches, and attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds:
