Which Colony State is NH:
The Beginning Years: It is believed that the initial inhabitants of what is now known as Keene, New Hampshire, arrived over 5,000 years ago. They established villages near rivers and lakes and formed various tribes, such as the Cowasuck, Ossipee, Penacook, Pigwacke, Sokoki, and Winnipesaukee. Prior to European exploration, the region was inhabited by around 3,000 Native Americans belonging to the Algonquian cultural group. The Pennacook tribe emerged as the most influential, with their primary village located in contemporary Concord. In the 1600s, both English and French explorers began to arrive in New Hampshire, with Martin Pring being the first documented European visitor, navigating the Piscataqua River in 1603.

More History: The state of New Hampshire derives its name from Hampshire, England, and was historically referred to as the Royal Province of New Hampshire and the Upper Province of Massachusetts. Like the other Thirteen Colonies, slavery was an entrenched institution in New Hampshire. John Mason facilitated the arrival of settlers to New Hampshire, despite never having visited the area himself. He chose to name the region in honor of his home county of Hampshire. In 1776, amidst the American Revolution, New Hampshire distinguished itself as the first colony to establish a constitution and proclaim its independence from Great Britain. As one of the original thirteen colonies, New Hampshire was the first state to adopt its own constitution and became the ninth state to ratify the United States Constitution.

Climate of New Hampshire: New Hampshire has a climate that is classified as humid continental, characterized by four distinct seasons and significant fluctuations in both daily and seasonal temperatures. The summer months are warm and humid, providing an excellent environment for outdoor pursuits such as swimming and camping. Autumn showcases breathtaking foliage, while winters are prolonged, cold, and snowy, creating ideal conditions for skiing, snowmobiling, and engaging in snowball fights. New Hampshire has average temperatures of 42.55 °F degrees with 48.8 inches of precipitation. The average temperature during the summer months is 75°F to 85°F, and in winter is 2°F to 7°F at night and 90 inches of snowfall. New Hampshire has an average of 35 mph wind speed, and approximately 195 sunny days per year, making it a 53% of days being sunny.

Furthermore, Alan Shepard, who became the first American in space, hailed from Derry, New Hampshire. Lastly, we must remember Christa McAuliffe, a teacher from Concord, who was the first private citizen to participate in a NASA space mission, and we honor her family for her contributions prior to the tragic Challenger incident.
