On Video & .GIPHY: Pacific Hurricane Gilma: August 15th to August 28th, 2024:
Because of the beauty from the eye in the sky. . .I am featuring a .GIF of the whole loop of Pacific Hurricane Gilma, starting out in the eastern Pacific 5° south of Puerto Vicente, Guerrero, Mexico at 12°N & 102°W, staying clear of any and all land areas, causing no damage or fatality, staying over water for the whole duration of the storm. Gilma meandered west to only very slightly northwest for the duration going west to 144°W and getting sheared off quickly in a westerly flow, then moving east before dissipating at 20°N & 139°W 20°N & 150°W near Hawaii, all on one loop on .GIPHY.

The second inconsistency in is an image placeholder inconsistency, in the terms of the fact that it was placed in an area where the center of the hurricane did not exist, hence inaccuracy:
| A SECOND CENTRAL PACIFIC NWS/NOAA ERROR:
After further review. Gilma ended at 20°N & 150°W near Hawaii. The NWS/NOAA once again put the image placeholder in the wrong spot on the eastern Pacific satellite images on 07/29/2024. It looked as though Gilma retired in the Eastern frames. Gilma never moved east according the loop on Central Pacific satellite loop, and they showed it moving east on eastern Pacific. Note the missing frame area on eastern 08/26/2024 Pacific satellite:
This is the second discrepancy in the 2024 with this exact department of government (first was Tropical Storm Aletta). People tell me to complain. It is not my job to complain, the department needs to act accordingly and admit fault, not the other way around. Weather needs proper warnings issued, and proper equipment to be operational, at all times and without discrepancies. People’s lives are dependent on this fact. Weather technology and forecasting has had improvement every year since its inception, except the past 3 years. Every year, the situation continues to show signs of regression instead of progression. I am from Illinois and we had a derecho event move in on July 15th between 9:30 and 11:00 pm. The warnings for the event were not activated on time and were tardy for the event. The derecho blew clear through and sirens finally went off 30 seconds after the brunt of the storm went through. This type of inaccuracy is not only uncalled for, it is dangerous. I am not going to complain about such an inconsistency. The department must know that an error happened despite the reasoning. I have the screenshot of this storm and I could see the dangerous situation before it was here, but was very busy, and have grown dependent on being notified properly but in this case it didn’t happen either. I thought maybe the situation lessened, but it did not. I am praying for a miracle that the problems can be uplifted, before lives are at stake again. |
