Because of the beauty from the eye in the sky. . .I am featuring a .GIF of the whole loop of Atlantic Category 4 Hurricane Franklin, which affected land areas of the Dominican Republic while still being a tropical storm. Emily started in the mid-Atlantic at 12°N & 37°W, migrating westward to the area in the Caribbean 2°S of the Dominican Republic and doing a pinwheel before moving northward over the Dominican Republic area. On August 24th as a tropical storm, Franklin affected approximately 350,000 residences that were deprived of electricity, while 1.6 million homes were unable to access clean drinking water. The impact also affected around 830,000 individuals who rely on aqueducts, as nearly 120 aqueducts were rendered inoperable. In Santo Domingo, a total of 13.02 inches of rainfall was recorded due to the passage of Franklin. Tragically, the storm claimed the lives of two individuals, including a teenager. Franklin continued north over the Atlantic where it started to pinwheel again going over warm waters, and was upgraded to hurricane status, eventually meandering almost parallel with the U.S. shoreline about 10 or so out shore. It caused big swells to impact the Eastern Seaboard in and around the upper Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina shorelines after starting a complete northeast path out into the Atlantic waters, while turning complete Category 4 status. On August 31, 2023, Hurricane Franklin is currently progressing in an east-northeast direction at a speed of 14 miles per hour, accompanied by a maximum sustained wind velocity of 90 mph. Finally Franklin moved due east and attempted to cross paths with then Tropical Storm Jose, and the shear from the then stronger storm proceeded to dissipate Franklin near 39°N & 53°W, despite being in the warm waters of the Gulf Steam in the Atlantic, as featured all on one loop, on .GIPHY:
