Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day:
Dancing Butterflies Peony
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let the is year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Dancing Butterflies Peony.
The Dancing Butterflies Peony, or the Paeonia Lactiflora (Paeoniaceae family) is a hybrid Peonies that is valued for the colorful and often fragrantly scented blooms, similar to Garden Peonies. Plants form an upright bush of darker green leaves that stays attractive all season long, and the spread can be 24-30 inches. The Dancing Butterflies Peony features bright lipstick-pink petals that grow to a grand size of 7-1/2 inches across surrounding a small circular golden-yellow center, and very attractive to butterflies. Like any Peony, this version seldom needs to be divided or moved. The Dancing Butterflies Peony flowers best in 6 to 8 hours on sun, and must be shaded if there are a consistent time per day totaling more than 8 hours, especially in the heat. They also do best with mild but abundant watering, and never in lower areas where there is too much water. Trim off old stems to the ground in late fall, to help prevent disease problems.
