I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of equally strong partners meeting, falling in love with and creating a life with each other. The fact is that supermen, superwomen and super people don’t really exist – unless, of course, you think of all the courageous, strong, kind, generous, hardworking and dignified souls walking amongst us. Those going about their every day without drama and stress but adding a little bit of sexy fun, sunshine and joy wherever they go while juggling modern-day living. What’s even better is when people like those find each other and decide to fall in love – and when their mutual respect for each other’s abilities creates a connection like no other. 

 

So what makes this unique relationship sexy, fun and dynamic? Here’s my breakdown!

 

Their Shared Passion for Leaving The World a Better Place

One crucial aspect of a “superwoman-superman” dynamic that contributes to its success is the shared passion for making the world a better place. While each superhero has a unique set of abilities and responsibilities, their shared goal not only brings them closer together but also fuels their motivation to overcome any obstacles that come their way.

 

When a superwoman loves a superman, their mutual respect creates a strong foundation for their relationship. I believe that, as with any partnership, there is always a power dynamic at play. In superhero relationships, this power dynamic is often tied to their abilities and strengths. How they navigate this dynamic can make or break their partnership. 

 

They Are Each Other’s Safe Space

Supermen and superwomen are not perfect. In fact, in many cases, we’re drawn to them because they’ve overcome major challenges in order to ‘save the world’. 

What’s even better is that when in a relationship, they are each other’s safe space and safe people, which is what I’d hoped to convey in the book. One of the core book themes is ‘healing’ – and the fact that while we all may have trauma, healing is found when we face our problems within the safety of a loving relationship, be it romantic or otherwise. 

 

Their Mutual Respect

I’m married myself, and I know this to be true: the importance of mutual respect cannot be overstated in a superwoman-superman bond. This is where each partner acknowledges and admires the other’s unique strengths and talents, recognizing that they are better together than apart. This mutual respect not only strengthens their relationship but also helps them tackle any challenges that arise in their lives.

 

In Stars of Dusk, Kage Sable overcome a myriad of challenges, and because he’s worked on himself, he’s able to help guide Harlow towards her own healing – which is what great couples do for each other. He’s a committed, talented and deeply loyal friend and boyfriend – simply a gorgeous, smart man with moxie, inside and out. Their super relationship is reflected in their ability to relate to each other’s struggles and offer support and encouragement when needed.

 

Kage and Harlow also respect each other’s physical, mental and emotional needs. Their partnership involves trusting each other’s judgment and listening to each other’s opinions, including supporting each other’s personal goals and aspirations.
