Celebrating the recent World Press Freedom Day! We celebrate being able to have the freedom to read a press writer’s view to attempt to tell the truth. . .
📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰 📰
A Brief History:
History: The day was established by the World Press Freedom Committee in 1976 to promote and defend press freedom. In 1993, the UN General Assembly officially proclaimed the day for world press freedom following a recommendation of UNESCO’s General Conference in the year 1991.
Premise: The goals of having the day for freedom has the following goals:
- Celebration of the fundamental principles press freedom follows
- To assess the present state of press freedom throughout the world
- Defending the media from attack of independence
- Paying a tribute to any journalists lost in the line of duty
When: May 3rd every year!
A Few Facts:
I am sharing a few facts, and more, some trivia, some not trivial. . .
Over the last 15 years in the U.S., the following employees fell 45%:
- Other newsroom employees
In some places in the U.S., access to news has become barren: More than 1,400 communities across the country lost a newspaper over this period. Worldwide the situation could be even worse. The goal is to keep free press for all levels of press, including the independent freelancer–for all subjects. Also for the elimination of all unscrupulous added guidelines–in all subjects, even space travel!
The freedom of every reporter is still as free as ever, despite differences.
My hopes are that it is able to continue press freedom for all into the future. . .
