Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Azalea Flowering Bush
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Azalea Flowering Bush.
The Azalea Flowering Bush, or the Rhododendron spp. is a popular flowering bush and foundation plant, with bright spring blooms of ranging medium size. The bushes are native to Asia, Europe, and North America. The fragrant blooms put on a show in the spring to early summer in a variety of bright colors ranging from gold, orange, peach, pink, red, purple. This particular bush is a pink variety. It is important to note that all Azalea varieties are not pet friendly as they are poisonous, and not recommended in or outdoors where pets reside. When young, they are a smaller size, Azaleas are poplar potted plants as gifts for Easter and Mother’s Day. After the blooms die, it is an easy replant to transplant Azaleas outdoors. The Azalea Flowering Bush grows to the size of 3 to 20 feet tall. The Azalea Flowering Bush does well in full sun or part shade (about four hours of sun). When planted in full sun, azaleas will be more compact and floriferous. When planted in part shade, they will stretch toward the sunlight and form more gracefully, and the flowers will not be as plentiful but will last longer than in the direct sun.
