Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: The Syringa x Bloomerang Dark Purple (Reblooming Lilac) Shrub With Dark Purple Flowers

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Bloomerang Dark Purple (Reblooming Lilac) Shrub With Dark Purple Flowers.

The Bloomerang Dark Purple (Reblooming Lilac) Shrub With Dark Purple Flowers, or the Syringa is a deciduous shrub that grows to with leaves that are relatively small, only reaching 1.5″ long and 1″ wide. The plants will reach up to 6′ tall with a 5′ spread. The bloom time is twice–once in once in the spring, then repeating midsummer to fall they produce showy, fragrant and dark purple to even a bronzed flower. This particular plant indeed would look great by autumn, but the flowers would never last into the season. The optimum amount of sun or shade each plant needs to thrive is in full Sun, and planted on higher ground, as most lilacs including the Bloomerang do not tolerate soggy conditions.
