Many say that next year will be bigger and better than ever before. Meantime, it will have to be a virtual event. The season of Mardi Gras, like the Christmas season is not only one day. The season has roots to the season of Carnival, and the Carnival celebration starts on January 6, which is the Twelfth Night after Christmas and the feast of Epiphany. Fat Tuesday is the largest day of celebration, and the date it happens moves dates year by year. Fat Tuesday ranges any Tuesday between the date of February 3 to March 9. Carnival also varies in length year by year, because Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is always 46 days before Easter. Easter falls on Sundays starting March 23 all the way to April 25, and the exact date of Easter coincides with the first Sunday after the full moon following the spring equinox.
