Here is today’s featured photo. For the month of September I am featuring Infrared photography as the style. For today, I am posting another fine fall photograph on a clear midday of colorful trees with light cirrus clouds near Goeselville Grove in the Cook County forest preserves near Oak Forest in Illinois. The photo looks of indigo hue by substituting a yellow filter with an orange filter. How great it is! Date – October 1982.
Photo taken with a Nikon FE camera through a Nikon 26 mm lens, filter=orange filter, Aperture=11 f/stop, shutter-speed 1/30th second, loaded with Kodak Ektachrome Infrared Color IE 135-20 Infrared Slide Film processed E-6 using Kodak Ektachrome Chemicals. Enlargement processed Type R color positive paper and R-3000 chemistry onto 3½x5″ glossy negative color image enlargement paper.
☼TIP: Always use colored filters to balance the color setting. Yellow works best to make for blue (to midnight blue with polarizer) skies, orange makes a great indigo sky, and red makes for a yellowed print and/or sepia effect on the photographs. ☼
