The History:
Origination of Spaghetti: Spaghetti has a long history, with an ongoing discussion about where spaghetti actually comes from. What we do know is that pasta has been a part of our diets for a very long time. Historical texts from the Jerusalem Talmud reference itrium, a type of boiled dough that was commonly found in Palestine between the 3rd and 5th centuries A.D. An Arab dictionary from the 9th century describes itriyyaas as thin, string-like shapes made from semolina that were dried before cooking. In a document from 1154, it is noted that itriyya was produced and exported from Norman Sicily for the King. During the 14th and 15th centuries, dried pasta gained popularity because it was easy to store, and explorers took it on their ships when they ventured into the New World. By the following century, pasta had spread across the globe during the age of exploration.
