THE SANTA TRACKER!
Brought to you courtesy of NORAD
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a joint U. S. -Canadian organization focused on the security of North America through aerospace and maritime warning. Its key roles involve monitoring space for threats and ensuring air sovereignty. NORAD’s mission expanded in 2006 to include maritime warning, and its headquarters are in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The organization has adapted over time, especially highlighted by the events of September 11, 2001.
During the holiday season, NORAD tracks Santa Claus using radar and satellites, utilizing 47 installations across Canada and Alaska. NORAD fighter pilots greet Santa with their jets as he travels. NORAD began tracking Santa in 1955 and enjoys this tradition, although it cannot predict his exact arrival time or route. Santa visits homes believing in him and travels the world in his unique time perception, estimated to be around 16 centuries old. NORAD has captured extensive data and even photos of Santa during his journey.
