Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day:
The Yellow Bandito Lantana
Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let 2025 shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Yellow Bandito Lantana.
The Yellow Bandito Lantana, or the Lantana Camara ‘Bandito’, is a significant issue as it is an aggressive invasive species that outcompetes and displaces native flora, creates dense, impenetrable thickets, heightens fire risk by supplying fuel for wildfires, and can be harmful to both humans and livestock. Its thick growth inhibits other plants, leading to a decrease in biodiversity and harming ecosystems, while its flammable characteristics worsen wildfires. Furthermore, lantana possesses toxic compounds, rendering its leaves and unripe berries hazardous if consumed.
