This is a reflection of an extra special remembrance to all Americans on that day twenty two years ago on 9/11. There is some movement to try to erase the past, and even an administration that seems to forget the importance to “Never Forget” the people who were affected that day. Americans like me, NEVER, ever forget! My prayers go out to the people, families and friends of all people in the affected area.

A special remembrance for those who lost loved ones on that day. . .

Everything changed dramatically on that day, a lot of people lost their lives, a lot of injuries and damages beyond explanation. To mark haven, I offer a node of silence, in order to remember a nation preparing for a day of solemn reflection and remembrance, and paying tribute…..

A prayer:

Dear God,
Eternal God, Creator of all people, we come to You in sadness as we remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We pray for the families and friends mourning the great loss of life at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on United Airlines Flight 93. We ask for comfort, healing, and strength for them, and for peace in their hearts. We honor the bravery of firefighters, police officers, rescue workers, and everyday heroes. We also pray for wisdom and courage for ourselves and our leaders. May we respond to hatred with love and work for a world of freedom, justice, and peace.

­…..Continued prayer throughout the whole day for everyone touched by the disaster, and ask everyone to remember where they were the day of September 11, 2001. I pray to God to bless the whole world, this country, the sites of disaster including New York City, the people, the families–the whole U.S. changed forever, and we will NEVER Forget! Remember them! To forget is to say that it is okay. . .and it will never, ever be okay!

“9/11” was construed as the shorthand lingo for four coordinated terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda, an Islamist extremist group, that occurred on that morning. The attacks killed 2,977 people from 93 nations:

1. In the first attack, American Airlines Flight 11 hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan happened at 7:46 a.m. CST (8:46 a.m. EST). When it happened, it was still questionable whether or not the attack was an accident.
2. Only seventeen minutes went by when United Airlines Flight 175 hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center complex at 8:03 a.m. CST (9:03 a.m EST), and it was then very clear that the acts were indeed terrorist attacks. 2,753 people were killed in New York; and the acts were followed up by two additional incidents of plane crash. . .
3. 184 people were killed in the third plane crash of American Airlines Flight 77 at 8:37 a.m. CST (9:37 a.m EST) at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. Exactly one hour later than the second incidence of the South Tower hit, the fourth incidence was a crash of Flight 93 which crashed at 9:03 a.m. CST (10:03 a.m. EST) near Indian Lake and Shanksville, Pennsylvania which resulted in an additional 40 people being killed.

There were several closures nationwide, especially in New York of buses, taxis, trains, and the Federal Aviation Administration (Executive Branch) had placed a flight ban for over 48 hours after the terrorist attacks in order to prevent any further incidence, and to this day it is not known if there were more attacks that the country would be subject to.

The day this happened, I worked an overnight shift doing a tile installation at for my client, Chi-Chi’s Mexican Restaurant, and was sleeping while it happened. I was woke up by my roommate who managed a 24 hour gas station that would have been open, but they has closed. If you were low on gas that night, even here in Illinois, you were in danger of running out if you did not have a full tank. Several businesses–even vital essential businesses. That night, I watched MTV when they played some music videos, and MTV and VH-1 plus many cable stations all had news on them instead of regular programming. The then internet we used at the time was dial up America Online (AOL), and it was very hard to even connect to the host phone number (“Welcome. . .”) When you did connect, it was also very hard to access anything while the disaster was going on for even days to weeks. It was weeks and months until it go better.

Former President George W. Bush’s method of handling the disaster all the way through–from the way it was handled not to startle those children in the school in Florida, to the method of meeting the needs of all through and throughout the disaster was most excellent. God bless Mr. Bush! Former President Bush asserted: “Any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.” It is clear that the Executive Branch of the U.S. government MUST act in accordance to the obligations that they must live up to, and thank God that Mr. Bush was in there at the time!
