The Sunflower

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let 2025 shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the The Sunflower.

The Sunflower, or the Helianthus is, are beautiful plants that can brighten your day. They are easy to grow, whether in pots or at home. Sunflower seeds should be sown in spring, ideally from late March to April, when temperatures are at least 65°F. In colder areas, it may be necessary to wait until May. Plant sunflower seeds in well-drained soil, about 2 to 3 inches deep, covering and watering them, but avoiding water buildup. They require 6-8 hours of sunlight daily and benefit from protection against pests. Water them weekly once they are established. Sunflowers can also be grown in pots; a dwarf variety works well in small spaces. Enjoy your sunflowers, especially on National Sunflower Day!

Exposure : Full Sun (at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight)
